Olivier Clape

Aérosculpture

Olivier Clape represents Aérosculpture, a French collective of artists and engineers that explores the poetry of movement and light through spectacular aerostatic installations. Founded in the 1990s, the studio is internationally renowned for its monumental helium creations – floating forms that come alive in the air, blending technology, kinetic art, and light design.

Aérosculpture has signed some of the world’s most emblematic aerial artworks, from Aéroplume, the first individual airship ever created, to The Dragon Metamorphosis, Luminous Seaweed, and Whale, an impressive luminous sculpture that glides poetically through the night sky.

Under the artistic direction of founder Jean-Pierre David, Aérosculpture’s works have been presented at major light festivals worldwide, transforming the sky into a living stage where art, science, and imagination converge. Olivier Clape contributes to the development of these innovative projects, exploring the relationship between weight and levitation, light and motion, and bringing a new dimension of wonder to urban art.
