The bunnie of Intrude stand tall and appear to be quite at home in its new patch. A pest, in Amanda Parer’s native Australia, but also an idyllic image of our childhood, the rabbit seems to be an animal of contradiction. Intrude deliberately evokes this cutesy image, and a strong visual humour to lure you into the artwork only to reveal the more serious environmental messages in the work.
Parer Studio’s edgy and ephemeral artworks explore the natural world, its fragility and our role within it. The principal creative, Amanda Parer is originally from Sydney, but now resides in Tasmania, Australia. Parer studio’s work has been displayed in major art museums and art spaces in USA, Europe and Asia.
